Text PDFs use font and position clues to infer headings, paragraphs, simple lists and regular tables. HTTP links in PDF annotations are retained where their text can be matched. Scans and images use English OCR.

HONEST LIMITS

Useful output. Still worth a look.

One file at a time, up to 100 PDF pages. A conversion can OCR up to 20 pages. Small or blurred text, handwriting, complex tables, formulas and multi-column layouts need careful review. OCR returns text, not reconstructed formatting. Embedded images, exact styling and code-block detection are not preserved. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Processing speed depends on your device; OCR takes longer than text extraction.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Markdown?

Yes. Auto detects pages without a usable text layer and reads them with English OCR. Select OCR to read every page as an image. Clear, upright scans work best; always check names, numbers and punctuation.

Will tables and heading levels stay intact?

For text PDFs, regular rows and columns can become Markdown tables, and font sizes help infer heading levels. These are heuristics, not guaranteed layout recovery. Merged cells, complex columns and scanned tables may become plain text.

Is this PDF to MD converter private?

Your document stays in this browser. No account, upload or conversion history is required. Downloaded files and anything you copy are saved or shared only when you choose to do so. Refreshing the page clears the current document and result.

Can I use the result in my notes or an AI tool?

Yes. The download is a UTF-8 Markdown file. Check the result against your source before importing it into your notes or using it as AI context. Image attachments are not included.

Does it convert Word documents or multiple files?

This version accepts one PDF or image at a time. Office documents, batch processing and Markdown-to-Word or PDF exports are not supported.
